The wick can collect gradual deposits of black and hard material on top of the wick during long periods of burning or if using red colored kerosene* and the following symptoms may occur. 1. Ignition of the wick becomes difficult. MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY OF HEATER USAGE This can be accomplished by dry burning the
wick as it accumulates a deposit of tar and carbon. Under normal usage, most people will Dry Burn their wick about once a week. Contaminated kerosene, old kerosene and dyed kerosene can cause more frequent dry burning or even ruining the wick. Please refer to your heater's Owner's Manual for more detailed instructions for your particular heater.
